5th Gen Themes
« on: June 18, 2008, 04:02:29 PM »
I've tried several themes that come with Rockbox and downloaded some however when i install them the actual player is still the same. The background image loads but nothing else. I have installed the files to the right folders.

That's mostly because some wps files are not up to date with the syntax of the current build...
post links to the ones you would like to see working and i'll try to fix them. But not too many please.

i just recently downloaded the current build of Rockbox, and have the same issue as Smash.

how do we know when a majority of the themes have been up to date with the current build?

Edit: and i just downloaded the fixed Theme X, but my WPS is still in it's default mode and whatnot.

You don't know when a majority of themes are fixed. All you can do is look an see if a specific theme seems to  be fixed.

And if a theme isn't working, contact its author.

And if a theme isn't working, contact its author.

Or fix it yourself.

The quickest way to get them fixed is to do it yourself I promise...

It's not hard to do. Find the .wps file and update it to match these specs: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CustomWPS

Themes that broke 2 days ago  only need to have the progressbar tag fixed and  the %m tags removed. You will need to put the text lines that had %m tags into a viewport to display them correctly.

Themes that broke earlier will need more fixing.

Even taking into account learning what to do by reading the wiki - you'll get them working faster than if you just wait for someone else to do it.
