Arguably, both should be possible. As long as the plugin decides not to grab the playback buffer, music can be played while you're in it. Letting music continue playing while the plugin is running should be the easy part (it'll likely just make the plugin hit the disk more often).

You know when you click on the database button in the main menu of rockbox, and at the very bottom there's a "Custom View" button, do you think that it would be possible to put the pictureflow files in the Custom View thing and then you'd be able to use it that way?

Making a link to the plugin isn't really that difficult at all. It's just playing music from and in the plugin that needs work (someone correct me if i'm wrong).
