Developing rockbox plugins
« on: June 16, 2008, 07:47:20 PM »
Hi there,
First off I'd like to say RockBox is awesome firmware, and I really appreciate all the hard work put into this (free) project.

I'd like to contribute a little to this by creating plugins for Rockbox (games, apps, whatever). Currently I'm learning C (just started), but I'm quite advanced with scripting in general (Turing, AutoIt, some VB). I read the example "HelloWorld.c" tutorial, which I understood, however I'm not understanding how we get from a "HelloWorld.c" to a "HelloWorld.rock" (a rockbox plugin, I assume).

Can anyone help me out? I seem to be missing that information.

Thanks,
Kurt

I don't know about the internals of the build system, but if you just mean how do you do it, simply put the .c file in /rockbox/apps/plugins/ and add a line to both /rockbox/apps/plugins/SOURCES and /rockbox/apps/plugins/CATEGORIES.
