pictureflow problem
«

Hi All,
So I heard about the pictureflow thing and thought it would be cool so I looked at the page in the wiki. I don't understand how to use the Album Art 4 MP3 program they give me and I have the DataBase initialised. When I went to the google thing and when I try to download the file it doesn't recognise the file. A window pops up and has 2 buttons that say "Find" and "Save" on them when I try to download it. I tyred to save it and drag it to the root of my player (sansa e270) and nothing happens. I am completely stuck
. Is there any special expensive programs I need to have? Did I miss anything? I'm using the latest current build of rockbox.
Any help is appreciated.

Read the rest of the AlbumArt wiki page for instructions on how to use album art. And for instructions on how to use that 3rd party software, I recommend you ask the author.

ok I got it to work but when I go to the demos menu in the plugins section and click on pictureflow it starts loading then says "No albums found" and "Could not create Album Art cache" . do you know what this means? What can I do to fix it? I did the DataBase thing.

So you have files in your music folders called "cover.bmp"?

Have you re-initialized the database? I'm not sure but that error message makes it sound like it's not finding any albums, let alone their artwork. When you go to the WPS using cabbiev2 (the default theme), does the album art display properly?

Then you haven't followed the directions on the AlbumArt wiki page properly. Reading them again is all I can suggest.
Edit: Sorry, I jumped the gun a bit. For cabbiev2 the album art needs to be a certain size, specifically 120x120 for the Sansa e200.

ok.
Update: I looked at the directions about the album art again... and I have no idea what they're saying. I don't know what they mean by put them in the same directory as the track or in the parent directory. I initialised my DataBase . And, I don't know what this means:
The pictures can be stored in the same directory (.) as the track or in the parent directory (..). There can be a track-specific, album-specific or generic picture.
The order of priority is the following:
1 ./ filename .bmp - same filename as currently playing music file
2 ./ albumtitle .bmp - name of the album, found in metadata of the music file
3 ./cover.bmp
4 /.rockbox/albumart/ artist-albumtitle .bmp
5 ./ albumtitle .bmp
6 ./cover.bmp
Do you know what this means? Can you help me fix it? As you can see... I don't know a thing about programming.

By directory they mean folder, the physical folder that the music is in. As in, when you connect it through USB. It has nothing to do with the database.

if you're saying I should put the picture in the same folder as the album... then that's what I already did. And it didn't work.
Update: I got the pictureflow to work but it doesn't play the music.

Pictureflow is just a demo, that's why it's in the 'demo' folder. It would be nice if it could be intergrated into the database browser but as far as I know, noone is working on it.

Sorry if I'm off topic here, but are we looking to play music in the plugin, or just use the plugin to find music and then play it?
