MR-100 battery life?

(1/2) > >>

Chronon:
I picked up an MR-100 from eBay a few weeks back for pretty cheap.  The auction advertised it as having poor battery life so I picked up a new battery (Cameron Sino 750 mAh) to replace it.  However, I am only getting about 6 hours of playback time with the new battery.

What kind of battery times do other people see?  I checked out the voltage_calibration spreadsheet from the wiki, but that doesn't seem to provide any sort of timescale that I can see.

There is a wiki page with only one entry on it here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/MRobeRuntime

It looks like my 6+ hours might not be anomalous.  I guess I will run a battery_bench and add my results to the wiki.

I've bought a second hand MR-100 from ebay as well. I wonder if I could take any battery that has 3.7V and a charging voltage of 4.2V and fits into the case? I would like to have a battery with about 1500mAh or even more.

Where could I find such a battery. I'm from Germany so a european shop would be nice;)

Best regards,
Simon

Chronon:
Yes.  In principle, you can.  The important factors are the physical dimensions and the voltage.

ximarix:
Great. Any idea where I could get one?

LambdaCalculus:
Googling for "m:robe 100 batteries" may turn up results, or you can try eBay.

As Chronon mentioned, look for Cameron Sino batteries (as a user of them I must shamelessly plug them now and say that they're excellent batteries. ;))
