Add new keymapping to rockbox?

Hey,

Im new to rockbox coding and I was hoping I would be able to remap some keys on my sansa e200.
For example, could I make the record button a shortcut to the clock?
Or make the clock come up when I slide the hold key across?

I have lots of time on my hands  so Im willing to learn how to compile etc to do this. If possible, it would be great if you could provide fairly detailed instuctions.
If you do, I shall love you forever. jokes lol.
