STMP350 @ Teac MP370

(1/2) > >>

mastamx:
Hallo guys,
First i want tu execuse me for my posible bad english.

So why i am here you want to know?
I have a Teac MP370 MP3 Player with 2gb of Flash, used by an STMP3500, but i'm not sure. I think it is a 3600, because of the video capabilities.
The player can display video 128*128@15fps , FM-audio receiving is also no prob.
Yesterday, I made a firmware upgrade from 002.600.004 to 003.200.001, but the player is not as loud as normal, this is a real problem.

There are exactly three ways to solve my problem.

First: Write to Teac and hope that they give me an older firmware, but i don't think they'll do it.

Second: Get Rockbox running, but dont kill the bootloader :), would be very hard i think, i have only experience with AVR Atmega 8bit CPU's running my assembler code. The real problem would be that i cant open the player, or i loose my guarentee

Third: Help me to find the adress which specifies the max volume(I read a datasheet of a sigmatel chip), and patch the original firmware. I can attach the original Teac software if you want.

First would be good, second would be better and third would be godlike =)
So if you need a tester for Teac Software, here I am, although i prefer the last solution.

This is a Rockbox forum, so 1) and 3) are entirely off-topic here. As to 2), see the NewPorts page in the wiki.

mastamx:
But you are the experts.

I dont think that i want to lern C, asm is allrigth but C... hard and buy the Sigmatel SDK for 1200.
I only want to unlock the player, these are some bytes in the hexeditor , cmon

Llorean:
We are the experts on Rockbox. Rockbox is not at all about modifying original firmwares. It's about replacing them, entirely, with our own code.

Please, respect the forum guidelines. It's a little odd to come here and say "I can't be bothered to follow your rules, but you should help me anyway."

If you just want to modify the original firmware, go find a forum of experts on that MP3 player, not experts on a completely different piece of software.

mastamx:
Sorry, i didn't want wo break your rules, but i dont think that there is another forum which can help me.
I don't expect you to help me, i only hope that someone will help me who is a good person

I don't think that you are experts, you are gods.... to develope such a software, it's just undescribable.

You know almost everything, how to make good software, you see the hardware....,really hard to describe...
so i thought that someone could help me about half an hour to get it running#(the modified firmware), but i expect noone to do this.

Greets, Jens
