Rockboy Link Cord (rockbox-gbc)

Alot of my friends play pokemon on game boy color and i want to trade pokemon with them, but i play on rockboy. Will Rockboy recognize a link between gameboy and rockboy? (granted that i would have to wire some cords together).

I'm using an iriver h10 and i could make a cord that connects through the usb or though another hole in the top. But even if i did, would rockboy recognize the link?
