is it possible to set the default playing time for NSF files?
« on: June 05, 2008, 04:21:09 AM »
As the title says, I notice that if I leave an NSF file alone and play, it will eventually (after a very long time) go to the next song in the game....is there a way to change this amount of time?  Ideally, I'd love for it to go to the next track after about 1.5 - 2 minutes.....can this be done?

Thanks in advance!

The default, I believe, is to play a looped track twice through, then fade out for 5-6 seconds after the second loop and play the next track in the file.  There isn't any way to change that without rewriting the NSF codec to use a specified length of time to play a looped track rather than a number of loops to play through before fading out and moving on to the next track.

The only thing I know someone can do is set the repeat mode to "one" to continue looping an individual track over and over again until it's manually skipped to the next track.  Skipping only works going forward, though, skipping back will return to the first track.

While skipping is still a little bit incomplete (since you can't skip back without going back to the first song/sound in the NSF file), seeking through NSF files certainly works. I've made it a habit of seeking if I want to hear a previous song in a certain file.
