Likelihood of USB over Bluetooth dongle?
« on: October 28, 2005, 03:24:26 PM »
I suppose it's not too likely.  The bluetooth dongles probably only hook to a USB master, not a USB slave (i wonder?), and despite open source Linux code could be located that does bluetooth it's going to be operating as a USB master I would expect...

Stiill, that would be a REALLY cool feature...

Though I have an Archos JukeBoxRecorder 20, perhaps there are some newer recorder devices that can already do bluetooth???

there is a single mp3 player (i think its some sony) that has built in bluetooth support.
but its just a small flash based player, and its more a PoC than a product.

do you want BT for A2DP or for file transfer capabilities ?

there are A3DP sinks and sources available, that are pretty cheap.
for the iPods, there are even devices that draw power from the player itself.... ;)
