If you want help, please follow our posting guidelines and (1) rename this thread with a descriptive title, and (2) describe the nature of the problem.  Don't ask for other people's help and then try to put the burden on them to figure out what the problem is.

Ah I'll bite.

The first thing he needs to do is boot it into disk mode manually. He's got the button pushes for reset down, so I won't bother with telling him how to do that.

Get him to reset it, and the *moment* the screen goes black, he needs to hold down Select (the middle button), and Play (bottom of the wheel), and not let go of them again until he gets disk mode up.

Then, and this is the key bit. He needs to go and read the manual, and do the installation properly.
