That means it requests full charging power from the host computer. What it *doesn't* do on the e200 is actually provide that power to the battery for charging.

I updated the bootloader the same day I updated Rockbox, so it might be the bootloader. The cable I used works perfectly with my Rockbox-less Sansa E280. The cables for the E200 series are identical.
So the Sansa firmware displays the "Charging" screen but doesn't actually gather a charge?
Swap the batteries between the 2 mp3 players. See if the problem stays with the battery.
