E250 Problems
« on: June 03, 2008, 02:49:51 PM »
All was working well after my initial download earlier today.  I reconnected to install the additional fonts and themes, and now I have an image of what appears to be a silver cylinder with a yellow projectile in the center of the screen, distorted images of the battery life indicator and clock at the top of the screen, and a jumble of indistinct images at the bottom.  The unit will not power off.  I have turned the hold switch on and held the REC button.  All too no avail.  Any suggestions?

Hmm.. I'm trying to visualize your description but not coming up with much... It sounds to me like a broken theme...

For what it's worth, the way to power off the unit when it's frozen is to hold the power/menu button for upwards of 30 seconds, the switching on hold and holding REC trick is for recovery mode.  Check out the SansaFAQ in the wiki.

Thank you.  I had previously held it down for about 20 sec. since I had read in earlier forum discussions it needed to be held down for 15 sec.  Didn't work.  Tried it again for close to a minute.  Now all is well.  It seems I misunderstood the discussion re: not connecting the usb when in Rockbox mode.  That is what appears to have been the initial cause.  Thank you for your assistance!

Aha, I can see the corrupted yellow screen now.  :)  Glad to hear it's working.
