Interesting idea.  I was thinking it might look cool if you oriented the "illumination" bits toward the star.  I would also move the star up a little.  It looks a tad cramped at the bottom.

It does look more balanced now.  Although I may have to reconsider my bit about the illumination.  The star itself has a drop shadow that suggests a lighting source to the upper left.  So maybe it would be more cohesive to go with that.
