tracknumber not detected

johny7:
Hey guys,

I have the problem that the tracknumber of one single song isn't shown in the database or it's just not detected. It looks like this:

1. Song 1
2. Song 2
4. Song 4
Song 3

The tags are correct, I checked it a hundred of times and it works fine with all other songs. My idea is that the problem may be the title of the song:

And By Our Own Hand Did Every Last Bird Lie Silent In Their Puddles, The Air Barren Of Song As The Clouds Drifted Away. For Killing Their Greatest Enemy, The Locusts Noisily Thanked Us And Turned Their Jaws Toward Our Crops, Swallowing Our Greed Whole.

:D

But why is the tracknumber not detected just because the songname is so long? Or do you have other ideas?

Sorry for my English and it would be great if you can help me! :)

Llorean:
What format are the files, and if MP3, what tag version?

johny7:
They are mp3 and the tagversion is ID3v2.3.

The tracknumbers are like this: 06/08

Llorean:
Ah. Try just using 06 instead, just as an idea to test.

MarcGuay:
I had a problem with that song, as well.  :)  I think the problem has to do with the limit on tag buffer size.  Mine is now called "And by Our Own Hand Did Every Last Bird Lie Silent In Their Puddles, the Air Barren of Song as the Clouds Drifted Away" and all of the tags display fine.

As far as the long song name messing with the track number, the tags aren't necessarily read in the order they appear to the user, so if the track number is located after the song name and it chokes, the track number won't be read.

The reason I know that: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/8500
