dos on rockbox
« on: June 01, 2008, 11:47:36 PM »
There is a emulator called DosBox that can be ran on windows, macs, linux etc. I think it would be cool to port it to rockbox, the source is included in dosbox, and then we would be able to run dos applications/programs and such.

Is this a request or are you making an effort to port it?

I just looked at the source and as it's C++, I'm pretty sure it isn't allowed.

I don't think anyone objects to c++ for a plugin, it just will be very hard as there currently is no c++ runtime in rockbox

That pretty much means an extensive porting to not only C, but to the Rockbox code base is in order.

I'm not really 'into' C++, what runtime exactly will need to be ported? Some kind of libc++ (libg++? libstdc++?)?
Can't we just link to for example libstdc++.a ? Or is there some need for underlying functions to be implemented?
