So i can speak only for myself and do not know what others think but 32 could be more than enough for my needs right now... But i also thought about a viewport surrounded by 4 others to display rounded corners... so if anyone else has such ideas he will be happy to have as much as possible ;-)

make it one viewport and have it contain a bmp with all 4 rounded corners while leaving everything else transparent.
or just put all of the corners into one viewport. I'm not quite sure what the problem is in your case and why the corners can't be included in the backdrop...

Because the corners should only appear if a certain state like hold switch or pause is active (conditional)... Including them into the backdrop wopuld make them visible all the time

alright. I still wonder what keeps you from putting them into one viewport instead of four.. I find it hard to imagine what exactly you want to achieve. an illustration would make things easier..
