« on: June 01, 2008, 04:04:39 AM »
im not sure why, but when installing rockbox for the first time on my 60 gig 5g ipod, all it states is "no themes found" when i try to install any themes, where should i put themes that i downloaded in order to use them using the rockbox utility?

Rockbox Utility installs only themes from the themes download server themes.rockbox.org. Due to traffic issues the themes for the Ipod 5G have been disabled from the server. So unfortunately you can't use Rockbox Utility for installing themes right now.

yup we'll just have wait if we want to do it this way. personally i chose to go to the Soap's Mirror page or w/e it redirects you to from iPod Video theme's page and download two from their then extract them to my iPod, and only put the CFG file into the themes folder in the .rockbox folder, and then i deleted everything else. it works fine.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking how to install themes, or something else ?

i have also this problem "no themes found".
"No themes found" is a message displayed by Rockbox Utility and indicates that it can't find any themes on the download server. It has nothing to do with the themes installed on your player.

thanx for the answer - it´s my first use of rockbox.
from your homepage rockbox.org - "current build" i´ve downloaded the build for the ipod video 60gb and automatically unzipped to the folder rockbox/.rockbox
afterwards i found the manual witch told me to download rbutilqt-v1.0.5.zip. automatically it was unzipped to the folder rbutilqt-v1.0.5
i started rbutilqt.exe and under file/configure i told the program the right ipod player. then quick start/complete installation ... after some seconds and downloadings the programm stopped after "getting themes information ..." with the error message "no themes found."
please tell me what to do

"The right ipod player" is the Ipod Video, right? Themes have been disabled on the download server for traffic reasons (the themes server currently isn't on rockbox.org). You need to download the themes manually from a different location -- can't remember the URL of the top of my head, but you should be easily able to find it out by searching the forums. Also, the wiki too has themes.

And you don't need additional themes for using Rockbox ;)

thanxalot, but,
hmmm ... i downloaded theme "excape pod" from
"http://rockbox-themes.cleansoap.org/index.php?res=320x240x16". on the top of the page they told me to extract the zip file into the root folder or my player. so i extracted to the root folder of my pc. again rbutilqt.exe but still the error message "no themes found"
any idea?

If you download a theme manually, you must install it manually. This just means putting the files in the right places on your player.

Just quoting myself:

"No themes found" is a message displayed by Rockbox Utility and indicates that it can't find any themes on the download server.

Is there anything unclear about that?
