Support and General Use > Audio Playback, Database and Playlists
Need some assistance -- I have 3 questions.
Scott Fulton:
Hello,
Question 1. I read somewhere that itunes likes to rename your songs and stick then in random places in your ipods root. Well, when I go to my tracks with rockbox by going through Database then tracks, Half of my songs are named "<Untagged>", then once I play them they have random 4-letter names like "JVNA" instead of the proper name for the song. I'm wondering if there is anyway for the proper name of my songs to show up.
Question 2. I have to go into "database" to access my music, to me that title makes no sense. I was just wondering if I could change the name of that in the main menu instead of "Database" to "Music" or something, something more convenient.
Question 3. When rebooting my ipod mini, The apple logo comes up and rockbox boots by default. Is there any combination of keys that i can use to boot the regular apple OS instead of rockbox?
AlexP:
1. Yes, you need to tag them properly. Often if you do this in itunes, it will update its own database, but not the tags on the actual files.
2. It is a database of the tags on your music, makes sense to me. However, if you want to change it, I believe you can do it by creating a new language, and certainly by editing the code then compiling. I imagine someone else will be able to help with the language file more than I can.
3. Yes, Rockbox will dual boot. Check the manual for the key combo.
Scott Fulton:
And also:: I installed the bootloader...but...rockbox starts up by default? I thought a bootloader allowed me to choose.
AlexP:
Rockbox starts by default, to dual boot you hold a specific key during boot. As I said, check the manual - it tells you both this, and which key to press (I can't remember off the top of my head).
Scott Fulton:
I checked i can't find it
hmm
