IPOD Cover Flow
« on: May 29, 2008, 11:40:47 AM »
Hello;

Hopefully someone can explain / help me.

I've got my cover art converted for use with rockbox and it does work with the base themes.  I'd like to add a theme mimics the touch/iphone cover flow and I've seen them on the site - but not of them work with the current build.   Can someone point me to the following:

A build that supports coverflow without adding additional patches and a theme that they've tested as working with that build?

Thanks!

you're probably talking aobut the PictureFlow plugin.

Go to Plugins -> Applications -> PictureFlow.

But you need to have the database initialized and the album art in bmp files.

Note that this is not a theme. This will only let you browse through your albums and it does display the tracks to each album. But it doesn't let you select the album to play it.

There are a couple of themes for the iPod video that kinda look like coverflow (Look for the Rockflow theme).

Hi again...

So with pictureflow:

1 (It's under demo) it says "Not enough memory to display album names"

2.  Loaded theme rockflow and the most current build, selected theme / wps and played an album
I don't see the albums (Yes they are loaded and work with other themes - 100x100.)  I do see a generic black and white display with the album name and Left Right sound bars etc..

any additional help / ideas? ???

If by sound bars you mean peak meters, then the RockFlow theme is broken (or incorrectly installed) and Rockbox has defaulted to its basic built-in WPS screen.

Did you unzip the theme correctly? You should have the following files:
/.rockbox/backdrops/Rockflow.bmp
/.rockbox/themes/RockFlow.cfg
/.rockbox/wps/RockFlow.wps
/.rockbox/wps/RockFlow/*.bmp
etc...

Turns out the RockFlow theme was broken. A new version that uses viewports and 150x150 album art has been updated in the wiki.  Let me know if anyone finds any problem. I tested it with r17647M-080528.
