Sansa e260 suddenly won't usb connect
(1/1)
egardner:
I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place.
I have been using Rockbox happily for several months. Today, when I connected the device to my computer, my sync software could not see it. (MediaMonkey)
I rebooted into sansa mode and changed to the MTP mode (not MSC) and was able to connect and transfer things.
Switched back to MTP, rebooted rockbox and reconnected, and it won't connect. Device does not receive a drive letter.
What's wrong?

So you're connecting it while Rockbox is running? It *should* reboot into the original firmware because the USB mode for the Sansa isn't finished yet, but it may not work every time and exhibit the behavior you described (or freeze up in some cases). You might want to upgrade to the latest build and see if the problem still occurs. It sounds to me, though, like it's just a simple misunderstanding mixed up with a demi-bug.
Chronon:
I usually power down my e280 prior to making a USB connection. Does this method work for you?
