Hiyas,
Apologies but I couldn't find a better forum to post this in on Rockbox, but I think many fellow Rockbox users would be wanting the same thing as me.
I am looking to put a car stereo in and am struggling to find any with good interfaces for mp3s. I essentially want one that allows you to plug in USB drives/sticks and has a good for finding/selecting mp3s. It also has to have a decent file number limit, which many players don't have.
The best I've found so far is JAVC's KD-AVX44/ADV49 (they are practically the same stereo bar a few minor differences) as discussed here:
http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1403117&page=0#Post1403117The biggest negative with the JVC unit is that the mp3 navigation isn't ideal for whilst driving according to the above thread. It's still good but I keep thinking there has to be some better interfaces out there. Also, with the JVC unit the USB ports are connected via a cable (not from a front port on the stereo) but that's minor and the DVD playback is unncessary and even adds to the cost (minor again). It has a 5,000 files per device limit which is also good enough (a lot of car stereos have much lower limits).
I don't want to use any device using Rockbox in the car at all. I just want a stereo with reasonable mp3 navigation from a device holding a lot of mp3s. I don't expect one with an interface or the features half as good as Rockbox, but I'd expect there to be a few better than the JVC unit. What's the next best unit for a car?
Thanks for any info anyone can provide.
