iPod Battery Custom Build (v16179) ?

<< < (2/3) > >>

LurkAzusa:
By default the accessories power is set to on.  Change it to off.  I believe that should save some battery power.

Accessory power was (IIRC) still on when we did those test builds.  This should not be his issue, but a good power-savings tip nonetheless.

Sounds to me like it could have to do with the part of Andree's patch that wasn't committed -- setting idle cpu to 24MHz.
racekites: What format/bitrate are your tracks in?

Buschel:
Hi,

everything mentioned before is correct. Nearly all changes were submitted in February, except:
1) turning off accessory power supply (can be done via settings menu now)
2) lower normal clock (will only give more playtime when using mpc and/or flac, you may use http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/8668?pagenum=4 to achieve the same effect).

best wishes from my off-time in black forest, germany!

Hi guys...

thank you for the responses...

I'm typically playing audiobooks and radioshows at 64kb/s. I usually get 14+ hours from a single charge with the battery mod build. With the latest build i was supprised to get less than 10 hours play back with the same bit rates.

I'll do a more scientific test to get actual times rather than estimated. If anyone wants a copy of this battery mod release to test too, i'll upload the copy i have.

Cheers
A
