An mp3 hangs my sansa e250

This file from the 7thson audio book hangs my player.

The file plays fine on the OF.

Odd, it plays sometimes if I select the file directly.  But hangs all the time from a playlist.

Can someone test the file?

You're better off filing a proper bug report, as per the guidelines.

That's not a solution, it's just avoiding the issue.

These are the kinds of bugs we need to hunt down and remove from Rockbox.

As LLorean said, a formal bug report would be very helpful - see the "bugs" link in the menu to the left of every page of this website.

I've tested the file briefly, and it plays fine in a simulator.  So the more precise you can make the description for repeating the problem, the more chance a dev has to recreate it, and hence attempt to fix.

Works for me, on a Sansa e280. But I did experience a similar problem a while back. I managed to work around it then by turning off the directory cache. A long shot perhaps, but it could be worth checking.

Yes, and yes! A list of directories held in memory is still quicker than accessing the drive itself, even if it's a flash drive. Also, the Database auto-update (and browsing to some extent) functionality is dependent upon it for anything like reasonably speedy.
