iPod Mini 1G - battery capacity settings
(1/1)
hendersj:
Brand new user of Rockbox (about a week old now) and just upgraded my battery to an 850 mAh battery; the settings menu has settings that only to up to 800 mAh. Can the menu be expanded?
(I tried to set up an account in Flyspray, and received the activation e-mail, but the new account page redirected to a blank page and I can't activate the account - I'd love to submit this request there if that's the right place, but I can't get my account activated due to the weird blank page after creating my account).
Thanks! Great software, love what I see in it so far. Much more usable with the 16 GB CF card I just installed than the standard iPod firmware.
gevaerts:
It could be expanded, but that setting is only used to calculate the remaining time, nothing critical depends on it. As far as I understand, the remaining time calculation is not very good on ipod anyway, so adding this wouldn't really achieve much.
hendersj:
Good to know, thanks.
Just did some preliminary testing with the new battery, with a bunch of extra features turned on (like EQ, dithering, crossfade, crossfeed, and a stereo width of 250% - and the backlight on - I'm getting about 4 hours of play time under Rockbox.
Is the 1g power management fully optimised yet, or is there still work to do on that? I'm going to compare to the stock firmware and see how the times compare, but wonder if anyone knows already what sort of results I should expect.
Thanks again,
Jim
Chronon:
I think it should be pretty similar to the Apple firmware.
hendersj:
Great, thanks.
