Sansa E200 crashes on USB connect
just_me:
Hi,
I recently upgraded my E200 (from r15871-071204 to r17601-080522)
and am now observing immediate crashes when plugging in USB
while the player is in rockbox mode.
No reaction on any button or when unplugging/replugging USB.
The device can still be switched off with a very long press on
the power button.
The symptoms of the crash vary. F.e. the screen is garbled for about
half a second then the text:
Data abort
at 0154001C (1)
shows up on top left. Or the screen just stays garbled.
Any thoughts?
Greetings,
Frieder

Its been a known issue for as long as I can remember. I don't think anyone is going to fix it since it'll be removed when rockbox USB mode is finally enabled.

OK, thanks for putting that into a perspektive.
I can live with that, although it means I won't lend the mp3 player to someone else because I cannot be sure the player is shut off before the lithium battery gives up.
Thanks

I also get crashes on some PCs when i use the front usb slot for charging (because of too low current.. i guess). the back ones work just fine. might be a solution.

I’ve never seen this before, but on my E200v1 it’s suddenly started doing it (after I changed themes)
It’s not consistent – sometimes I can plug the USB in and it’s fine, other times it does a data abort and needs a hard reset
Any ideas?
