Yes, it sounds like the FAT is corrupted.  I'm surprised in that case that chkdsk doesn't find any errors, it is normally very good.

Hi,

i once had a similar problem where i wasn't able to delete a file under Windows. It turned out that somehow the filemame had a leading space character. I think the solution was to rename that file via the command console (cmd) and then i was able to delete that file. Might be worth a try.
Alternatively you could back up your files on the player and reformat the harddrive.

Cheers everyone, I'll try renaming it through cmd, if that fails i'll back everything up and reformat.
