I would like to re-iterate my appreciation with all the others here.  My E280R now boasts 16GB of capacity since it can read MicroSDHC cards (something Sandisk swore up and down could not be done in firmware).

I would also encourage everyone to do like I do and look to your left to the small little PayPal Donate button inconspicously displayed there.

I donate to the cause a small amount yearly just to show my support.  I have no programming skills and can provide little more than answering questions others have about RB on the E280R here on the forum.

My E280R is now a backup player with my purchase of a Sansa Fuze, which I see development is being done on as we speak.  It's a little early to tell, but it looks like good progress is being made, and perhaps the Sansa V2 hardware will have Rockbox in the near future.  (Unlike the newest I-pods which look hopelessly locked down....).

In the meantime, I will make a meager donation of funds via PayPal to help with the hosting of this site and bandwidth usage.  If you, like me, have the same level of appreciation for the entire Rockbox development team, perhaps you too can put a little green in the bucket.

The Rockbox team would never actively solicitate donations, and I appreciate them for it.  But as a true Rockbox Advocate and fan, I can ask fellow fans to do what they would never do, and that is put a couple bucks in for the cause.

Soapbox time is over.

I'd also like to add my thanks and appreciate to the developers and all of those who have helped to create Rockbox.

I found a Sansa c240 v1 at my local Wal-Mart on clearance for $22 and decided to pick it up.  I liked the player, but found its inability to use anything larger than a 2GB microSD card frustrating and fairly useless.

I decided, after a bit of research, to Rockbox my c240, and went through a variety of installation problems.  On the Rockbox IRC, I went looking for help and luckily, found it.  The people were very helpful there, particularly user bluebrother who actually created builds of the Rockbox Utility and SansaPatcher so I could install the firmware on my player.

It worked like a charm, but I did have a few more problems after that, including two dreaded brickings of my c240 which were my fault.  I figured out what went wrong and made a clean install again.  And I'm back in business.

So, thanks again to all of you, and keep up the great work.

All the best,
Brad

user bluebrother

That'd be the developer bluebrother :)

I'm glad you enjoy Rockbox, and thanks for letting us know.
