how do i update the database

hello, i've got an iriver h10 20 gig p.o.s. and i've deleted things off of it, and it still shows them in the database, and sometimes tries to play them. i've went into general settings and selected auto update, and update now, still to no avail. can anyone help?

I think (but may be mistaken) that 'update' (and thus, auto-update) will add stuff but not remove any.  Personally, I just use 'initialize now' everytime I've changed stuff (which isn't all that often anyway).

ok, with that being said, how do i remove things? do i have to remove rockbox, and reinstall. cause that would be a kick in the johnson, if ya catch me.

I think he was suggesting that you try "Initialize Now".  Keep in mind, as well, that these things can take time and it may just be a matter of waiting a bit before checking to see if the database has been updated or not.

When I change files (delete or add something) on my Sansa c250, I use "Update now". When the operation is finished, I just have to restart the system and the database is ready and consistent.

i tried everything. even the reset button. and still. grrrrr. old piece o crap. anyone know a good mp3 player? something with a ton of room. i wouldn't have had his problem if i had more room. what can i say, i need a pig selection.
