best ipod for rockbox

TexasRockbox:
I experience lack-of-bass-issues with 16ohm loads.  I have much less problems with 32ohms and higher.  With 16ohm I find myself using the bass control which uses more power, leads to distortion with other tracks, and so on.

I use Sennheiser PX-100 which are 32ohm.  These headphones tend to be a bit bass heavy anyway so it works well in this situation to counteract the expected bass rolloff from the iPod electronics.

Just out of curiosity...is the 80 gb 5.5G ipod still the largest-capacity player supported by rockbox?

Eventually my 5.5 gig is going to epic fail and since the 160 GB ipod exists, I know I'm going to want one, since I could almost fill it twice over, but it's going to kill me to give up rockbox.  Is there anything comperable size-wise yet or is no one bothering to compete with Apple anymore?

Out of the box yes, but you can upgrade others - for instance I have a 120 GB hard drive in my gigabeat S (which well not fully supported yet is well on the way).

Edit:  I did of course forget the old Archos units, some of which take PATA 2.5" drives, so have a maximum of 250 GB currently, although they play MP3 (and wav via a plugin) only, and using more than 137 GB is a little awkward.

If you're interested in high impedance headphones, consider getting the Sennheiser HD 25-1. Their impedance is 70 Ohm, they sound great and you can wear them for days, without having a headache. great stuff
