« on: May 16, 2008, 07:15:10 AM »
i have about 2000 images that are at 3264x2448 taken using my digital camera. i want to process every single one to 220x176 to view on my iriver H320. does anyone know of a decent free batch resizer i can use. i have tried google myself but have not come up with anything that is actually free.

IrfanView!

Its resize algorithm (lancsoz) is way better than others

A second for IrfanView. Does the job quickly, easily, and correctly. ;D (Runs well in Wine, for Linux folks!)

This isn't a Wine support forum, but it's pretty obvious from that error message that you need to grab a copy of MFC42.DLL

EDIT: See http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=163

Irfanview does it for me too. Sadly. Maybe.

I'm forced to wonder why anyone would want to use a windows program, from linux, to do batch resizing of images.

"convert" from the ImageMagick suite works just fine - I used it to do all the album art on my players...

I should note that I installed Irfanview onto a Windows PC, then simply copied the data from "C:/Program Files/Irfanview" over to my Ubuntu PC. Also, I installed Wine through the "Add/Remove" feature.
