Archos Jukebox FM Recorder how to get it work again

Hi,
I own an FM recorder for several years and used it with rockbox. Two weeks ago I left it on my computer, attached with USB-cable in order to charge it. After 3 days or so I wanted to hear my music, but my jukebox FM recorder would not start again. There is no LED or screen light, even when I connect it to the AC-Charger.
So I would be glad to get some help from you. Worst thing: I didn´t make a backup and the music on the 20GB is my most loved music. Is there any chance at least to get back the data?

I don't think the data is lost.   Probably the worst case scenario would be that you have to disassemble the device, take the hard drive out and hook it up to an IDE port.  It's just a normal 2.5" laptop drive.  You can find 3.5" to 2.5" adaptors or you can put it in a laptop.

As for the FM recorder, is it *totally* dead?  Is there any slight flash of the on LED, sound from the device or sound in the headphones when you try to turn it on?  If there is, the battery is probably deeply discharged. The charger doesn't provide sufficient power to start up the hard drive, and so the device cannot turn on without some battery power.  I got around this myself by taking the battery out and charging it a bit.  If the device really appears totally dead even when USB or the power adaptor is plugged in, then I suspect some fault on the circuit board.

thank you for your reply. Well, when I connect my JBFM with AC or USB power I can hear some noise from inside the player. Its some kind of noise as if there is a little motor working. When I connect my headphone I hear nothing, but I got big noise (if connected to a power source) when I connected the headphone to the line input (I know its crazy :)). So, I think, the player is not totally dead. I disassembled it, but stopped because I was afraid to destroy the platine. I could not see a battery as far as I got.
