Play iTunes/other playlists in Rockbox?

(1/2) > >>

peanutismint:
I'd love to make some playlists to listen to on my way to work, but would rather make them on my computer (i.e. iTunes or VLC or what have you) rather than sit and make them on my iPod's tiny screen, and then import them to RockBox later.  Providing all of the file names and locations match up (i.e. if I were to connect my iPod as a disk, load songs from it into a player, then save a playlist of those tracks), could I then play that playlist in RockBox?

Llorean:
Rockbox plays m3u/m3u8 playlists. What tool you use to create them is irrelevant as long as they actually point to the songs on your player.

Zardoz:
I think if you make the playlist from within a program run in Windows it will include the drive letter in the path of each file saved and this will need to be removed if you want to play it from within Rockbox. So for instance if all your music is in a directory called 'Music' on the root of the player each file path should start with \Music\..... without the 'G:'\Music\..... or whatever it is

Llorean:
You do not need to remove the drive letter, Rockbox will ignore it.

Zardoz:
ok i'm wrong. i just checked it on my ipod which wouldn't turn on for ages. sorry people. haha!

sorry Llorean for posting inaccurate advice.

sorry original poster for the 'ill communication'. my posting career is over.

I'd like to thank God and my family for making it all possible. Peace! and Keep the Faith...
