2gb Nano not recognized correctly
(1/1)
asda653:
Build r16229
This 2gb Nano will not interface properly with the computer. When connected, iTunes recognizes it as "possibly corrupt" and instead of being labeled as an iPod in Windows XP Explorer it is labeled as "Portable Media Player". The Nano recognizes the computer and displays "Do Not Disconnect".
It's easy to reproduce considering it happens every time it's connected. It can charge, but not interface at all with the computer. I don't recall the exact conditions that led up to it, but they were most likely standard use.
I'd have updated the build but it's sort of impossible, Windows Explorer says it's unformatted.
(I really don't want to reformat it, only as a last resort)

So ... is Rockbox / the Apple firmware itself running? Or is it stuck upon booting? Does emergency disc mode work?

The firmwares work fine (except rockbox freezes up once in awhile, what can ya do) and the iPod can still charge, its just it shows up as corrupted on the computer.
But other than that its competely usable. Just I can't change anything on the disk which is annoying.
