C200 Metrenome does nothing.

Has anyone gotten the c200 metrenome plugin to work? i dont know what to press to get it to start ticking. It only ticks every time i press record. Does anyone eles have tthis problem?

There currently is a bug in the metronome controls for the c200s (for other players as well, e.g. Ondio, maybe even more) which means you can't use the most important feature of it, the playing back of the sound.

Unfortunately it's not an easy fix because of the system that is used in this plugin to define the controls - it would make a fix either an awful hack or possibly break the controls on other players and would actually need a general decision how to deal with said system...

I just took a peek at the source for the metronome plugin, and found that it only has one or two keymaps. I'll see what I can do to fix it.

I just use the metrenome to build up my own skills at keeping tempo. This is very important to me as a drummer.

I have a c240 as well, and I absolutely hate the 4 stand alone metronomes that I have purchased through various retail outlets.

I popped in IRC earlier and offered up a cash prize for whomever can get this working, and I was promptly shot down by the torrent downloading, everything should be free crowd...

Ah well, I was told only a few more months, and "maybe" it will be working.

Nobody said you can't hire a programmer. But the IRC channel is full of project members who do this because they want to, not because someone pays them. Go out and hire someone, get it done, nobody will stop you or complain.

But offering money for a tiny feature, when people have put in thousands of hours on the project already, is like saying "Yeah, you guys did work, but honestly I don't care in the slightest, all of it is meaningless without this one thing that I want."

Just go hire your programmer, don't whine because the people in IRC weren't for hire.

You were neither "shot down" nor anything was said about "another few months" (though time frames are hard to give) and I will just ignore your "torrent downloading" comment. If someone wants to, the channel is logged.

I would have said the same as Llorean if he wouldn't have been quicker and another thing:

As you could see in IRC and here, people are aware of this bug and interested in fixing it (including me) but searching for the right way that is not likely to cause more problems than it's trying to fix - on the c200 or on other players. This is why the point about the "pluginlib actions" system is on the European DevCon agenda. You could have asked what needs to be done, where the problem lies or even how "it doesn't work this way" was meant...

Was wondering if any progress had been made in getting the metronome to work with the C200. I see that the metronome application is back in rockbox in the latest build, but it still doesn't work on my C200 (it does on the E200).
