Ipod nano 4g first gen (recover playlist created on itunes, and entend battery

I just got this and for some reason if i take my ipod off of the charger i literally can watch the battery number go from 100- to 90 witin like 10 minutes, and within 45 minutes to an hour and half it shuts off for good.

also how, if possible, can i recover playlist that i made in itunes?

why thank you i will try that ipod convertor, but any advice about the battery, like where i can buy a new one? and how would i put it in?

Sorry, I never had a nano for long enough to need to change the battery.  I think you can find some good info on Google, though.   ;)
