Looking for a new music player. Future rockbox?
« on: May 08, 2008, 09:01:11 PM »
Hey all,

My iAudio X5L just died, and I really don't know why. It's nothing to do with the HDD, so I'm thinking it might be the flash memory (any way I can erase this and put back the bootloader?). Naturally, I'm looking for another source of my music, so I'm in the market for a new player. I've narrowed it down to the Zune 80 and the Cowon A3 (I really dislike iPods due to the inaccuracy of the touch-sensitive wheel). Are there any other MP3 players which I should look out for due to RockBox appearing for those models? The reason being, well, RockBox > * firmware. So many formats are supported :)

That brings me to my sub-question (which is probably answered elsewhere), how much experience is needed to program RockBox for a new player?
