Sansa e200 freezes a few seconds after bootup

(1/1)

Lech:
I recently used my mp3 in a car's cassette adapter for the first time.  When I was done using it I turned it off.  The next time I used it with headphones, I start up the player and everything looks normal . A few seconds later (whether I'm in a menu or in the song) none of the buttons do anything.  The Now Playing screen acts like normal.  I tried shutting the device off but the power button does nothing unless I hold it down long enough to reset it.  If I shut it down immediately after I turn it on, the goes to the "Shutting Down" screen and just sits there.

Do I need to reset the rockbox settings or anything?

the cassette mp3 player adapter doesn't act anything differently from a regular set of headphones.  make sure you are using the latest build of Rockbox.

Lech:
Sometimes this happens: When I try to view my files via USB MSC, it shows nothing in the list.  It lists the folders correctly....but they are all blank.  Hidden folders is turned off too.   in MSC mode, after a while even the stock firmware crashes...although it shows the battery icon charging.  I tried running the stock firmware for a while and it worked like normal.  However...the MSC problem persists so I can't update music

I'm using the May 8 2008 build, 16685M-0803.  I can't update the firmware since I can't see anything in MSC mode...

After a few tries it showed the files like normal.  So I deleted the old .rockbox folder and installed the new firmware.  When I try to update the database, it finds 3 and then stops.  Radio works fine.  Shutting down seems to freeze and then when I restart all the settings are back to how they were before I did the update.

EDIT: I just backed up my old files and reformatted and everything is good now
