sound settings @ c200
« on: May 07, 2008, 04:39:38 PM »
I reinstalled rockbox (vers.: r17403-080507 official build), but the player / rockbox still deletes the sound settings after every restart.
I saved my sound settings in a .cfg file (that means sound settings + eq settings in one file).

So the .cfg file you're saving is physically not present after you've restarted ?

Can you check the filesystem for errors (with chkdsk on windows or fsck on linux) ?

the .cfg file is present but i i have to load it after every restart because the sound settings are set to default.
already checked the player with chkdsk: everything fine.

So it's not deleting them then ?

This sounds to me like the problem is with the "disk" sectors that are holding config.cfg.

Run a "chkdsk /f" (or fsck.vfat -a on linux) and see if the problem goes away.

checked it again with chkdsk: everything okay.
the config.cfg seems to be okay because there are the right sound settings in it.
I think that somehow rockbox doesn't load those settings from the config.cfg at start-up.

How are you switching on your player?

There is a button sequence that resets settings to defaults (for those of us who have managed to set the foreground and background colours the same for example), I'm just wondering if you are doing that by accident

I just press the "on"- button (once).
Rockbox doesn't reset all settings; just the sound settings.

Check to see if you have a file called fixed.cfg that contains sound settings.

there is no file called fixed.cfg. I created a file called fixed.cfg and inserted my sound settings but it didn't change anything.
