FLAC Transcoding.

I know it is bad to go from one lossy format to another, so I am going to assume that it is alright to go from a nonlossy (ie. FLAC) to a lossy.... right?

You assumed correctly. ;)

An example of lossless to lossy: CD ripping to MP3, AAC, or Vorbis.
