v1 or v2 how to tell?

Is there a number or other sign on unit that will clue you up to whether a e200 series is v1 or v2 firmware? Asking most sellers on Ebay isn't getting me far.
Better yet, is there a place that people know still sells v1?

The only sure-fire way is to check the firmware version.

Settings > Info on my Sansa e280 V1

01.xx = V1
03.xx = V2

EDIT: I was going to say it's in the Sansa FAQ, but it wasn't. However, it is now ;)

It's worth noting that the original firmware version is the only conclusive way to tell. My e250, which is a refurb purchased from buy.com, says v2 on the case but is actually a v1.

when my e280 boots it gives a firmware version number as 0.3xx which means its a version2 model. Nevermind the build on the case, go by the boot version on the screen boot. Hardware is crap ha ha
