.bmp wont save

I finally figured out how to get a new backdrop, but now it wont save. I've read similar problems. (deleting the default file) but i dont seem to have that file located in .rockbox.

If your backdrop image is in /.rockbox (or a folder under that) it should save. Where are you saving the file? And what do you mean about deleting the default? You shouldn't need to delete anything.

Also, please don't ask the same question in more than one place.

In the .rockbox folder (in the root of your player) you will find a file named "default.cfg".
Delete that file, then input your settings and save them. Hopefully your setting now will be remembered.

I saved my image to /.rockbox but it wont save? maybe i'm doing it wrong, but i'm pretty sure im doing it correctly.






Btw im sorry for posting it twice. I figured since i "edited" my old post, it wouldn't show as "new"

okay. So. I have a .bmp file. (image)


I want to save it as my backround on rockbox.

Whenever i set it as my background, it works.

But when i restart my player, it resets.


In other words, it wont save.

Okay, EXACTLY. Tell me exactly how you set it as a backdrop. Include what folders you go into and everything.

Okay will do.

1. I drag and drop my image into Sansa e260R (G:)

2. I also drag and drop my image into "backdrops" in .rockbox

3. I then disconnect my player and start it up

4.I go to files, and click on *myimage*

5. I then click on "Set as backdrop"

My backdrop is now the image i wanted it to be.



I then restart my player, only to find it doesnt have a background anymore.

See, here's the thing. You have two of the file. It doesn't matter if they are copies of each other, you're setting the one that's not in .rockbox as the backdrop. You have to go into .rockbox in the Files browser and actually set the one in there as backdrop for it to work.

So your saying i have to click on "files" and find it from there? I dont know how to get to my backdrops.   (im sorry for bugging you btw) Im new to this

It's just a file browser. Just browse into the .rockbox folder. You may need to set "File View" to "All" as described in the manual.
