2 Small questions
« on: May 01, 2008, 10:34:08 AM »
Everytime i hook my iPod onto my mac it goes into discmode, is this supposed to happen ?

And then, when i disconnect it, i have to reset it to get it going.

Isent there another way to do this ?  ???

Yes this is the default behavior, you cannot use the USB while rockbox is booted.

If you want to plug in your MP3 player without having it boot into Disk Mode, then hold menu while plugging in your USB cable, now rockbox will only charge ;) Understand that oou wont be able to browse the files on your mac/PC while using this method.

As for having to manually reset, mine used to reset automatically but different people may have different experiences

You only need to reset the Ipod to leave emergency disc mode -- that is, if you entered disc mode by holding Menu + Play after reset. Rockbox uses Apple's disc mode which automatically reboots once you disconnect USB (as I said, it doesn't reboot if you entered emergency disc mode). If it doesn't work that way it's an apple problem, but I never heard of someone having actual trouble with that.
