Problems installing Rockbox on Ipod Video 80gb
Ray-San:
Hi there,
having problems with installing Rockbox on my ipod video 80gb. Also the manual and the automatic installer says "no ipod found". Have already tried it on 2 different systems. One with Windows XP and one with Vista. My Ipod is in disk mode and has the newest version (1.1.1). Got itunes 7.6.2.9. But have already tried without Itunes installed. Have also tried the "disc mode" on ipod(Hold+Select then Hold+Play). The patcher says always to me "Ipod not found". Have also tried to format the ipod new. Any one has an idea?
Sorry for my bad english

Llorean:
Are you sure you have a 5.5G iPod and not a "Classic"? The "Classic" is entirely different hardware than the "Video." The newest firmware version for the iPod Video is a higher number than that.
Ray-San:
Isn't the ipod video the only ipod which plays Videos? My ipod can play videos. How can I find out which Ipod it is?
And where can you get the newest firmware? My itunes says that it is the newest Version
Llorean:
There are two iPods that play video: The iPod Video and the iPod Classic. The Classic is the newest iPod model. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
Ray-San:
Ok probably have got the Ipod classic. So have to wait untill a rockbox for it releases :(
