Can't load rockbox.ipod - file not found

I'm sure it's a bug in the rbutil. Brand new MacBook with Leopard, fairly new iPod...the XP rbutil worked flawlessly-in less than 5 min I was up and running, so it's not a hardware problem.
The Mac OS.X rbutil should load and install painlessly - and it don't...
But thanx for trying to help and responding so quick... :)

I think there has been some slight confusion. You can install the bootloader and build individually from the second tab of rbutil, marked installation. In old versions of rbutil the complete install didn't work properly, but doing the bootloader and build install individually from the second tab did work. I believe this is what was being suggested. Unfortunately, owing to a shortage of people able to build the Mac binary, only an older version of rbutil is available for download as a binary.

And Rockbox should have a coffee maker plugin ...
Seriously, there was a bug around in rbutil which should be fixed now. Known issues are listed on the rbutil wiki page so you can check those if you have problems. Unfortunately there is almost no testing of rbutil on OS X -- BigBambi already mentioned the reason. Installation was working reliably using the "Installation" tab (I referred to it earlier as manual install tab -- I was wrong with the name) like since day one and I never heard of problems with that. If you have problems with automatic stuff it's always a good idea to try it non-automated -- and I bet this would have worked. You compared two different versions (XP is right now 1.0.5 while for OS X only 1.0.4 is around as binary) so it's not surprising that they work differently. Unfortunately this doesn't help us to figure if there is really a bug present.
So it would be nice if you could try the non-automated installation and check if the Rockbox build gets installed correctly. If you are able building rbutil it would also be helpful if you could check automated install with current svn ...
