What is your Setting?
« on: April 30, 2008, 08:09:20 AM »
Hello,

I bought IPOD simply because it can play music and stuff and it is very trendy! However since migrated to Rockbox a few days ago, I begin to appreciate my IPOD more and would like to manipulate my music to the fullest. Anyway, I do not know how and where to start even after studying the manual for a few times now. Sound Setting for example is too technical and maybe meant for PRO. So I'm begging anyone to share their setting (Sound especially!). As for now I only enable Stereo and it does a lot of different. Hope to hear from the community soon!

What sounds best is a subjective thing and depends upon both your ears and the 'phones that you use, so someone else's settings probably wouldn't be optimal for you.  I leave the EQs flat and rely on good quality phones to give me faithful reproduction.  Low quality phones can sometimes artificially suppress certain parts of the spectrum.

I already set each song EQ based on individual genre in Itunes back then. Does Rockbox maintain this setting and default every song to flat EQ?

What you do with itunes will have no impact on Rockbox.  I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Does Rockbox maintain this setting and default every song to flat EQ?" - that sounds like a contradiction to me.

There are the Predefined EQ settings (similar to ipod) and the SimpleEQ five band EQ.  Information located here:

Using original FW, Ipod will define EQ Setting base on what we already set in Itunes. Hope that makes sense

The OF is ignorant of the existence of Rockbox.  It will use its own database in the same way as always.
