How to enable optical out for Iriver H120

I just installed the rockbox software for my iriver and love the many features. I just can't seem to find a setting to enable the optical out feature though. I tried loading the original iriver firmware, enabled optical out and then restarted with the rockbox software but it still won't work.

I appreciate your suggestions for a newbie,

I know from experience that there should be a setting in the menus somewhere (possibly under playback).  Strangely, when I scanned the manual just now I could not find a mention of it.  Maybe my brain is just not working this morning?

It isn't in the manual (an oversight), but it is in settings -> general settings -> playback -> optical output.

Well that's a relief.  I'll take a look at patching that.

Since I couldn't find a good description of it in the wiki either I will have to defer that for someone else.

Any recommendations where a mention of such nature should go?

Or is that why you're deferring it, is because you don't know where to put it..?

EDIT: I'm putting it on the IriverFAQ page for now...  Is the H100 series the only one with optical out, or does the H300 series have it as well?

the h100 series is the only one.

Okay, thanks.  I did look around a bit to confirm before I saved the edit.  Is the FAQ a good place for it (for now, at least)?

*EDIT: I guess I can build a simulator for the H1xx and check the menus that way.
