How do I get iPod Nano to play WMA format?

chadders:
I have a 1st gen (silver back) 1GB Ipod Nano  which I have just rockboxed. It plays MP3s fine, however when I try to play WMAs is is very distorted. Does anyone know how I can fix this ?

Many Thanks      :)

It looks like WMA is still somewhat a "work-in-progress", it says here (click this!) that it's functioning at real time on all software targets but there's still work to be done to improve performance on PP5002 and Coldfire targets.

I don't use WMA myself (my library was all MP3 until Rockbox, then I started adding FLAC to it since Rockbox can play FLAC files), so I don't know how well the WMA decoder works in general.  Do the files play back without distortion on your computer?

AlexP:
Which version of WMA is it, what version of Rockbox is it, what bitrate are the WMA files, etc. etc.?  Details! WMA plays just fine for me with the few I have.

saratoga:
WMA should never play distorted.  If it does, check that its WMA v1 or V2 and then post the file.

Mad Cow:
I had really bad WMA distortion with crossfeed enabled, maybe you should check that.
