Installing themes mac osx 30gb video

(1/1)

lifeisloud:
I'm very new to rockbox and I can't work out how to install themes on to rockbox.  I've looked through the manual and can't work out how you go about adding files to different directories, or what this even means!
I wanted to install the Aurora Black theme shown here:
http://rockbox-themes.cleansoap.org/data/320x240x16/Aurora_Black.zip
Could anyone tell me how you go about doing this?

ZincAlloy:
1. get tinker tool to display hidden files http://www.bresink.de/osx/0TinkerTool/download.html

2. unzip your theme

3. the theme should consist of folders and files inside a .rockbox folder. move the files from their folders into the corresponding folders inside the .rockbox folder on your ipod

Or:
(and whether this is simpler depends on how you feel about the Terminal)

1. Open Terminal, and type the following commands:

2. cd [/Volumes/name of your iPod]

3. unzip [~/Desktop/Aurora_Black.zip]

Adjust the text inside the square brackets to the actual locations of your player, and the theme file.
You can drag and drop files and folders into a MacOS Terminal window, so you  shouldn't need to type the pathnames.

Many thanks for the help on this! :) Its working fine now!
Thanks again

edit: I'm having trouble with the now playing screen, it isn't appearing like it shows in the preview shown, nor is any other theme.  What am I doing wrong? Are there patched I need to apply and if so how do I do it?
Many thanks in advance

ZincAlloy:
Seems like this one was made for an inofficial build. don't know where you can get that one.
additionally the wps syntax might be outdated..

for information on patching, check the "getting started & compiling" section on this forum
