Ipod Radio Remote
« on: April 22, 2008, 07:10:25 PM »
Woo hoo, first post!

I have a 5th gen 30gb ipod and due to its constant use, the headphone jack does not work anymore. I have one of the official radio remote cords that plugs into the bottom of the ipod and was wondering if there was a plugin/patch to get this thing working, because as of right now I have no audio or button control. I don't really care about the radio function of a cord, I just use it for music. Is there anything out for this as of right now? Thanks!

Looks to me like somebody had success getting audio through it.

I checked that out, thank you, but unfortunately no dice for me. Maybe they had some sort of patch I don't have? It would have to have been something special, because I just put rockbox on my ipod this morning. Any guesses as to what to do?

Try turning on the accessory power.
System Settings <Accessory Power Supply < On
This is something which has changed (accessory power off by default) since the wiki was filled out.

I also have the same problem with my ipod (the audio jack is broken) and I bought an official radio jack. For me the audio and volume controls worked without changing anything, However, the rest of the controls don't. I have not tried changing any settings yet as I have not had time.

Since my prior reply accessory power has been turned on by default.
You can possibly squeeze out another half to full hour of runtime by turning it off if you don't need it.

The iPod radio remote is known not to work.
